Most of the new-baby conversation is about sleep. But there's another kind of new-parent exhaustion nobody names, the kind that arrives when you're interviewing for a job at the same time you're getting to know your kid. It's not time. It's self. And the part that surprised me most is that having a job right now would make me a more present father, not less.
